Run/Walk Wheelock Rail Trail
5 mile circular route Sandbach, Wheelock, Rail Trail to Ettiley Heath
Starting from the Cobbles by the Saxon Crosses in Sandbach, Cheshire today route takes us to the canal at Wheelock where we pick up the Wheelock Rail Trail and follow it through to the other end at Ettiley Heath, returning via Wheelock and Brook Wood.
The Route
The route is a little over 5 miles, I’ve included an alternative to avoid the muddy streets near the canal at Wheelock, this brings you onto the Rail Trail part way down and reduces the route to about 4.5 miles and removes the need to cross the main road.

If you'd just like to take a stroll down the rail trail without the rest of the route, I'd suggest parking on the side of the road near the end of Lodge road in Sandbach near Miola.
